Robert L. Haywood [1926-2004]

                                        Obituary

 

    Robert L. Haywood was born of November 16, 1926 to the late Mr. James and Lula Haywood in Rex County, Mississippi.  On Friday, January 16, 2004 at 1 a.m., he departed this life at the Nassau County Medical Center.  He will be greatly missed.

 

    In 1945, Robert joined the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged in 1948.  In 1969, Robert became employed by the United States Postal Service in Valley Stream, NY.  He was a devoted worker for 20 years before retiring in 1989.

 

    In 1977, Robert entered in Holy Matrimony to Betty Osby.

 

   Robert was a great family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

 

   Robert leaves to cherish his memory; a devoted and loving wife Betty L. Haywood, son Robert Haywood Jr., one daughter-in-law Cynthia Haywood, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one godson, nine siblings, Alice Haywood, Easter Mae Haywood, Micola Haywood, James Haywood, and Lula Barne, all from Chicago.  Theodore Haywood and Ernest Haywood of Mississippi.  Barbara Ann Haywood of Tennessee, Nick Haywood of Kansas City, Missouri, his sisters Johnny Lee Ray and Curtistene Haywood and one son Eric Nicholson preceded him in death.  Many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
